Live third-party sources
Systemic impact
Four panels, four external sources. Each one is fetched live — the maritime and cyber maps are the providers' own embeds, the market data comes from Stooq and TradingView, and the displacement figures come straight from UNHCR's public API.
Maritime traffic — Strait of Hormuz
Live AIS vessel positions from MarineTraffic, centred on the strait. Roughly a fifth of the world's seaborne oil passes through this channel. Zoom and pan directly in the map.
Oil and gas markets
Session quotes pulled through this site's own API, with TradingView's interactive charts underneath for Brent and WTI.
Cyber activity
Check Point's ThreatCloud map showing attacks detected across their global sensor network in real time. This is worldwide traffic, not Iran-specific — treat it as ambient context rather than attribution.
Displacement — UNHCR
Refugees, asylum seekers and others in need of international protection, from UNHCR's Refugee Data Finder API. End-year figures publish the following June, so this is the most recent complete year available.

Sanctions and diplomacy
No live panel here, and that's deliberate — see the note below. The closest honest substitute is the reporting itself, filtered to sanctions and economic coverage.
